Customer Reviews
descript: pretty good but could be cheaper?
can we cancel descript anytime? the AI image generation is neat, just wish deals were more common.
Good tool, some minor issues
I decided to try Descript for a video project, primarily for the Screen Recorder and Captions. The recording process was straightforward, and the automatic captions saved a lot of time. The AI Voices feature was surprisingly good for a quick narration. My main gripe is that the Desktop App can sometimes be a bit slow to load, especially when dealing with larger video files. It's not a deal-breaker, but it does interrupt the flow a bit. Overall, the tools are powerful, and it gets the job done, but a bit more optimization on the app performance would be great. Delivery of the processed files was prompt once rendering was complete.
Easy to use, quick transcription
Needed a transcription for a meeting. Used Descript's Transcription Service. It was fast and accurate. Uploaded audio, got text back quickly. Simple process. Happy with it.
Consistent results, good features
I've been using Descript for my podcast editing for over a year now, mainly for the Transcription Service and Filler Word Removal. This last order, setting up a new project, went as smoothly as always. The transcription was quick and pretty accurate, needing only minor tweaks. I appreciate that the Studio Sound feature consistently cleans up my audio well. It's why I keep coming back; the reliability makes my workflow much easier. The interface feels familiar now, which helps a lot.
Great value on annual plan
I was looking for an AI Video Editor and checked out a few options before landing on Descript. I opted for the annual billing to get the 20% off, which made a big difference in the overall cost. The free trial let me test out the Multi-track Editing and Studio Sound, and I was impressed enough to commit. For what you get, especially with the AI features like Eye Contact AI and Overdub, it felt like a solid investment. Definitely worth the price point compared to monthly options.

Share tips, ask questions & help fellow shoppers save more
How does Descript compare to Adobe Premiere Pro for editing short social media videos? Premiere feels like overkill sometimes.
Can you actually get a free trial of the Pro features before committing? Or is the 'free plan' just super basic?
I'm in Austin, Texas. If I sign up today, how long until I can actually use it? Is there like a shipping delay or anything?
Is the 'Studio Sound' feature legit or is it just marketing hype? My audio usually sounds kinda meh.
Does Descript work well for team collaboration? My co-host and I need to be able to jump in and out of projects easily.
